If you do not receive an ITA within 12 months of submitting your profile to the Express Entry pool, your profile will automatically expire. You can view this expiration date in your account.
If your profile expires, it will be removed from the pool and you will receive a message in your account to notify you.
At this point, you can create a new Express Entry profile if you wish, provided you have:
Take screenshots of your profile right as it is about to expire. This will make re-entering your data in a new profile much easier and save you a lot of time.
If you submit a new profile, you will essentially be starting the process over and receive a new Express Entry profile number and Job Seeker Validation code.

Being proactive can make all the difference.
