What to do with your language test results

Do not ask for your language test results to be sent directly to IRCC.

You will have to upload a scanned copy of your results when it is time for you to submit a complete application. This step will only occur after you receive an ITA.

Language test results are valid for a period of two years from the date they were issued. Make sure that your language test results are still valid when you:

  1. submit your Express Entry profile
  2. submit your application for permanent residence (after receiving an ITA)

If your results expire, you will have to retake the exam and update your Express Entry profile with your latest scores.

Once you have done the test and received your results, you will be able to convert your scores into the corresponding CLB and/or NCLC.

For many hopeful Express Entry candidates, language is a critical factor that can make or break their chances of being eligible for Express Entry and/or obtaining an ITA. Now that you have determined your NOC code and obtained your language test scores, the next important step before creating your Express Entry profile is getting your foreign education credential(s) evaluated for immigration purposes.
